Sheltowee Trace/Vanhook Falls
Volunteer Hemlock Treatment Days

Wednesday, January 29 & Saturday, February 1, 2020
9 AM – 5 PM

We'll be treating trees in a corridor along the Sheltowee Trace National Recreation Trail near Vanhook Falls.

Volunteers will measure and mark trees while licensed applicators apply the chemical insecticide imidacloprid (Click here for more information about the decline of Eastern hemlock in Kentucky.)

We'll meet at the Starbucks parking lot in London (directly off I-75 exit 38) and leave at 9:00 a.m. for the 192 trailhead, ~15 miles away.  Once on the trail we'll divide into teams with the Forest Service and State Division of Forestry staff. We'll wrap up in the late afternoon and be back at the exit in London by 5:00.

Carpooling is encouraged, click here to offer or request a ride.

We will email registrants with more details as we get closer to the volunteer day.
